I'm trying to enable the server flag to recompile VNC. When I do, it give me the message that it failed for some reason and some places to find the logs of what went wrong. I believe the important thing about Richard's information is that he has the server USE flag set, which is documented in his environment. Applying the attached patch in the if use server flag conditional branch fixes this problem for me.
He also has the following in his 'emerge --info': ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" The problem is caused by the keyword masked version of sys-devel/autoconf-2.62. Everything works as it should if using the stable autoconf-2.61 version.
