The attached ebuild is for my Pidgin Last.fm plugin. Reproducible: Always
Attached, you find pidgin-lastfm-0.3.ebuild. It is a plugin for Pidgin that displays song information from Last.fm in the status message. It does not need compiling as it is a perl script. I think it should be placed in x11-plugins/pidgin-lastfm. Runtime dependencies are dev-lang/perl and net-im/pidgin.
Created attachment 150578 [details] Ebuild for pidgin-lastfm
Created attachment 150988 [details] Corrected version of the ebuild Corrected something: * Copyright header now states Gentoo Foundation * Pidgin is checked for the perl USE flag * Dependency on dev-lang/perl has been removed
Created attachment 150993 [details] Another correction Gosh, I should learn to read before committing ... * Old SRC_URI line removed
Created attachment 151068 [details] Typo corrected I uploaded the wrong file - it was one with a typo. Man, I really should learn to look at what I am doing ...
Created attachment 151334 [details] Adapted to new source tarbal structure.
Created attachment 151335 [details] Typo corrected: RDEPEND --> DEPEND In order to check the USE flags, we must have net-im/pidgin installed before executing pkg_setup(). So It is now DEPEND rather than RDEPEND. If someone has a cleaner idea how to implement that, this wouldn't be all bad ...
Created attachment 151451 [details] Adapted for compatibility with x64
Created attachment 151640 [details] x64 compatibility issue was an invalid information ... I'm sorry I update the ebuild so often. It should be OK now. I was rather confused by the information I got from other packagers and Co. ...
You need to remove "/usr/lib" from "${D}/${LIBDIR}/usr/lib/pidgin" As written it is trying to install in "/usr/lib/usr/lib/pidgin" and fails. Also it seems to work for me on ~amd64 you may want to add that keyword.
Created attachment 160509 [details] New version and corrections proposed in last comment applied. Thanks for the hint, it has been corrected. I wonder how long it takes the Gentoo team to check and include ebuilds?
Created attachment 172177 [details] New ebuild for pidgin-lastfm 0.4 New plugin version. Ebuild ewarns about some Pidgin and Perl version stuff that is broken in net-im/pidgin ebuild!

This is now in the sunrise overlay. You can find it at: http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/browser/sunrise/x11-plugins/pidgin-lastfm After review by a dev, you will find it in the official overlay at: http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/browser/reviewd/x11-plugins/pidgin-lastfm
seems kinda broken, and As of 2010-06-03 0:00:00 GMT, this project is no longer under active development. probably should be removed when it becomes unusable.

Hello, everyone. It seems that at least one ebuild related to this bug exists in the Sunrise overlay at the moment. However, I have to regretfully announce that after a long inactivity period the Sunrise project has been discontinued and the related overlay will be eventually removed. For this reason, I'd like to ask you to reevaluate the ebuilds and consider moving them. If you'd like to maintain a package from Sunrise in Gentoo, please take a look at our Proxy Maintainers [1] project. Please make sure to take ebuilds from the unreviewed developer Sunrise repository [2] rather than the -reviewed one, since the latter has not been updated for over a year. While at it, please note that: 1. Adding a package to Gentoo requires declaring yourself as an active maintainer for it. All bugs regarding the package will be assigned to you, and you will be expected to maintain it. 2. Some packages may not be suitable for addition anymore. While there's no strong rules that would prevent you from adding a package, it may be a bad idea to add old-unmaintained packages that will shortly result in a large number of bugs reported with no solution. If that is the case, please close the bug as RESOLVED/OBSOLETE to make it easier to find packages worth adding. 3. Some of the bugs were already closed as WONTFIX/OBSOLETE/... while the relevant ebuild was kept in Sunrise. If you disagree with the original decision, you still can add the ebuild via proxy-maint. 4. Pleaes note that many of the Sunrise ebuilds are old and may be buggy. If you decide to move them, please make sure to update/clean them up. The proxy-maint team will also review your ebuilds, therefore making sure they land in Gentoo in good quality. Once again, thank you for your contribution. We hope that you will still want to contribute to Gentoo, through proxy-maint or otherwise.
