Message on boot: You are using a depreciated configuration syntax for eth0 You are advised to read /etc/conf.d/net.example and upgrade it accordingly This also applied to 2007.0.
So what you're referring to, pasting the net init scripts warnings in this bug? It's your responsibility to adjust /etc/conf.d/net* locally.
If thats the case, then the installer should do this when it prompts for the network setup. As a tech, I can do this, but for the non tech, this just makes the product look worse than it is. I suggest that the init.d/net.* are removed properly and the installer is updated to use /etc/conf.d/net*. I can't see how to reassign this to installer.
Please describe more thouroughly what exactly you have done, what the expected and actual results were, and what versions of relevant packages/installation media/... you used, and reopen this bug.
Installation media livecd networkless install. I configured the network card in the gtk installer. I don't expect error messages in the boot up. As its the installer that sets up the network cards, this should be assigned to the installer group. When you create a bug report you can select installer, but I can't find an option to reassign.
