Well, I've added debian patches and seems that they fix the issue. In any case they seems to fix some other issues. Thus this bug is fixed in ippl-1.4.14-r1 which should go stable after month. If still crashs try to read the following document: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml build ippl with debugging symbols, start it from gdb, gather some useful backtrace and open new bug or reopen this one. i can't really reproduce the segfaults dvb kernel: ippl[20046]: segfault at 388 ip 00000388 sp b762c9a8 error 4 in ippl[8048000+b000]
