Description Tim Redman 2008-03-06 16:34:16 UTC
When running the ebuild for app-emulation/qemu-softmmu-0.9.0-r1, the process dies with no indication as to why. I'm compiling using gcc 3.4.6-r1, since 3.3.6-r1 is masked. It does this on both qemu-softmmu-0.9.0-r1 and qemu-softmmu-0.9.1-r1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -av1 qemu-softmmu
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The end of the run looks like this:

It shouldn't do that.

If gcc 3.4.6 is the culprit, the version check on the ebuild should point this out, in addition to flagging 4.x compiler versions.

There's no error visible in the posted output; reopen with complete emerge log.
Comment 2 Tim Redman 2008-03-07 14:32:08 UTC
That would be my boneheaded move. I didn't look far enough back in the log. I'm attaching the log now.

Build log for app-emulation/qemu-softmmu-0.9.0-r1

The errors seem to begin at line 342 and repeat several times.

../softmmu_template.h: In function `__stq_mmu':
../softmmu_template.h:260: error: unable to find a register to spill in class `GENERAL_REGS'

The same or very similar errors appear again in the log at lines 390, 434 and 455. This appears to duplicate bug number 194681, and can probably be marked as RESOLVED/DUPLICATE. If I'm wrong here, let me know.

Thanks for the patience.
