After an upgrade recently, startx seemed to be ignoring the XSESSION set in rc.conf.

/usr/bin/startx contained:
sysclientrc=/usr/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc

instead of the expected:
sysclientrc=/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

I traced back to Makefile.in in the unpacked source.

Not reproducible at all...

$ grep sysclientrc= `which startx`; qlist -CIv xinit

Indeed, this bug is a little weird as the Makefile.am patch is indeed correct.

If you can still reproduce, please don't hesitate to reopen this bug.

Hey guys, first post-- sorry.. should have put emerge info in this post. Anyway, I just built Gentoo from scratch using one of the Stage3 files from a few days ago and have run into this problem. I'm just going to setup the xinitrc so that it uses Xfce4, but right now my XSESSION variable is being ignored completely.

I will not fix the problem so that we can resolve this bug correctly this time.
