Bug 210422 – kde-base/kmix-3.5.5 on KDE 3.5.7 ignores master channel setting when muting

Setup is as follows:
KDE 3.5.7 with kmix-3.5.5. The audio device is an Intel HDA compatible unit on an Asus planar.
Setting the master channel to eg. "PCM" or "Front" and muting audio with the global shortcut results in the channel with the smallest ID ("Headphone") being muted.
Muting audio by right-clicking the kmix icon and selecting "mute" works as intended.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the master channel to "PCM" or "Front" and minimize kmix
2. Set a global shortcut to the mute function
3. Press the global shortcut

Actual Results:  
The headphone channel (the one with the smallest id) is muted.

Expected Results:  
The selected master channel should have been muted.

KDE 3.5.7 is installed with kmix 2.6 (from kde-base/kmix-3.5.5).

The audio device is an Analog Devices AD1986A attached to the NVidia MCP51 southbridge.

Muting audio manually, with alsamixer or by clicking the mute-button above the desired channel works.

I am currently updating to kmix-3.5.8-r1 to see if that fixes it.

Re-open this bug if it persists with 3.5.8. And please don't needlessly mix KDE versions. There's kmix-3.5.7, no need to use kmix-3.5.5.
