It persists giving the following message, even if it finds the different jdks correctly: file:///opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64/server/libjvm.so.[Java framework]sunjavaplugin.so could not load Java runtime library: Creating /opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0 as a link to /opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.04 makes it happy Reproducible: Always Actual Results: nothing related to java runs, it shows a dialog about something failing loading java. Expected Results: java is initialized The workaround I posted works. I guess there is a bug in the scripts looking for java during runtime.

Why is it a duplicate? in the other bug the path printed is correct, here it is missing the last part after the dot.
