Description Clemens Ager 2002-04-23 09:37:58 UTC
I noticed, that after updating some packages some others wouldn't work till they
were recompiled. So I'd suggest to make portage recompile these packages
automatically.
These are the packages where I encountered such problems:
After upgrading libpng, the gnome task bar and nautilus wouldn't show icons till
I recompiled them (actually I recompiled all gnome packages, as I wasn't sure
which one was the affected one...).
After upgrading libsdl gdm wouldn't log me in till I recompiled it.

Thanks,
Clemens

I agree this feature would be very usefull.
Portage should also be aware that when you remove a certain package, also the
packages that depends on it should be removed as well (becouse they will work no
more!).
