Comment 5 Tobias Scherbaum (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-09 17:02:08 UTC
xfce4-mixer is failing in tests:

The following files contain translations and are currently not in use. Please
consider adding these to the POTFILES.in file, located in the po/ directory.

panel-plugin/mixer-prefbox.gob
src/main.c

If some of these files are left out on purpose then please add them to
POTFILES.skip instead of POTFILES.in. A file 'missing' containing this list
of left out files has been written in the current directory.

Same for xfdesktop:

The following files contain translations and are currently not in use. Please
consider adding these to the POTFILES.in file, located in the po/ directory.

src/xfdesktop-clipboard-manager.c

If some of these files are left out on purpose then please add them to

of left out files has been written in the current directory.

Comment 10 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-11 12:54:08 UTC
arm seems done.
Comment 11 Peter Karlsson 2007-12-11 21:39:18 UTC
I guess this is more of a question than a bug report but is the dbus dependency a hard requirement? I have -dbus and -hal globally set (in make.conf) and all previous releases have worked fine without dbus/hal. When I try to upgrade to xfce4-4.4.2 and xfdesktop-4.4.2 it tries to pull in dbus-glib which in turn pulls in dbus. Both hal & dbus are forever banned from my 'puter (through package.mask).

Thanks!

Best regards

Peter K

xfce-extra/xfce4-sensors-0.10.99.2 is not even keyworded ppc64 anything. Suggestions on what you want done while I let this compile overnight; then I will resolve in the AM.

If you didn't have it before, you don't need it now if repoman is happy with your commit in xfce-base/xfce4-extras, cause it's pulled by USE lm_sensors which is use.masked in your profile.

Most likely you need to set -trash-plugin -file-icons then. Next major release will require dbus without option, for configuration backend.. so get used to it.
Comment 16 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-12 15:08:41 UTC
ppc64 stable, skipped xfce4-sensors for ppc64. I observed a test failure with exo with checkabi.sh

Thanks for the tip (trash-plugin, file-icons). What do you mean by next major release? Would this mean that it would become a hard dependency? It's not a hard req. yet: http://www.xfce.org/documentation/requirements

The reason I'm trying to clarify this issue is that I need to determine if I should start looking for an alternative WM (preferably with session management). I have no use for stuff I don't want and it's the main reason that I run Gentoo.
Comment 18 Robert Buchholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-16 00:24:14 UTC
hppa, please stabilize. this is holding back security bugs.
Comment 19 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-17 18:57:12 UTC
Stable for HPPA.
Comment 20 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-03 14:27:07 UTC
Here we go again..

Removing mips from CC and closing as resolved, fixed because by the time mips will get around this the list will be old and I'm not going to maintain one here.

will provide a list, when mips is functional again.
