Description Maciej Józiewicz 2007-11-29 12:41:26 UTC
I had the mDNSResponder already installed, then added "avahi zeroconf" USE flags for nice network printer finding and hit "emerge --deep --update --newuse world -p" to check if its gonna be days or hours :) and the block showed up. Running it with USE="-zeroconf" doesnt help, but USE="-avahi" does. But still I'd prefer to use that flag.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Add "avahi" USE flag
2.try to --update --deep --newuse world
3.and I get the block

Actual Results:
I got blocking ebuilds.

Expected Results:
Well, I'd like it to just install everything it feels like needing.

It's a typical KDE workstation.

The system is a dual coppermine 667 (on 100MHz FSB resulting in dual 500MHz) on an ASUS P2B-DS with 256MB (will put more :) ) SDRAM, with an SB Live!Value, 3Com 905tx, Riva TNT 16MB, 20GB WD200 hdd, but I assume that's irrelevant.

Thanks for your help.

That's not a bug at all, the things collide.

Comment 2 Maciej Józiewicz 2007-11-29 16:06:45 UTC
If it's not a bug, then why is mDNSReporter being pulled in even when I do just "emerge avahi"? It seems like a dependency bug if it pulls in something that blocks it.
Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-29 21:03:39 UTC
Please read the ebuilds, this is not a support forum.
Comment 4 Maciej Józiewicz 2007-11-29 23:27:54 UTC
You're - there's no bug. I traced the problem. Sorry about the fuss.
