For reference let me point out that a "emerge kde" allways ends like this: " !!! ERROR: kde-base/kdebase-3.1.1a failed. !!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 123, Exitcode 2 !!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make " Im trying to emerge kde on a new gentoo installation. I found out, that the actual error isnt allways occuring the same place! I have watched the merge 4 times now (happens in the beginning) and it could happen when making "ksysguard" or could be making "kdm". BUT the actual error is allways the same. Perhaps someone knows whats going on? The error is: /usr/kde/3.1/bin/meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 ./index.docbook make[3] *** [index.cache.bz2] Error 139 So the error is allways related to the "meinproc" and failing with the index.cache.bz2 error 139. -whatever that is... I have tried different CFLAGS and USE="" but it doesnt work. I have tried all related bug-reports on this, such as emerging libvorbis and making sure XML is up-to-date... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kde 2. 3. Actual Results: /usr/kde/3.1/bin/meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 ./index.docbook make[3] *** [index.cache.bz2] Error 139 !!! ERROR: kde-base/kdebase-3.1.1a failed. !!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 123, Exitcode 2 !!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make Athlon XP 1800+ Geforce 3 ti200 3Com 905 PCI nic. SB Live System working flawless with everything else. Compiled from stage 1. Blackdown 1.4.1, xmms, alsa, alsa-xmms, alsa-utils, cups, bootsplash (~x86), fluxbox installed.
