*** Bug 19575 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
please paste #emerge info do you use portage_overlay ?
sorry for opening a new bug, but this # disapperead.. good to see it back online. from 19575 fails unpacking on XFree86-4.3.0-patches-1.0.8.tar.bz2 ebuild says XFree86-4.3.0-patches-1.1.0.tar.bz2 but it still wants to unpack 1. 0.8 however replacing ${PATCH_VER} [which IS clearly defined as 1.1.0] in whole ebuild with 1.1.0 manually works.

looks like the digest didn't get updated -- did you try emerging sync again?
every 30 minutes, for about 4 hours, yes. the digest file also contains 1.1.0.. it's really weird. i mean, as said, replacing the variable by the actual version did it, but the variable defintatly IS 1.1.0
I think the digest was screwy. an emerge sync should sort this out for you.
