There's been an update to postgresql on all major versions to sort out a New Zealand timezone issue (among other things) -- could the ebuilds be version-bumped please? Current versions for each slot: * 8.2.5 * 8.1.10 * 8.0.14 * 7.4.18 * 7.3.20 Reproducible: Always

any eta on when this could happen? thank you!
Well, almost two months and no change. Is anyone still maintaining postgresql ebuilds? Unfortunately, it's not as easy to install manually as Eclipse, for example (which suffers from outdated versions, too).
It turns out that the 8.2.5 version can be installed by simply renaming the 8.2.4 ebuild and associated patches. It works, so far.
Defined block on bug 204760, which details 5 serious security vulnerabilities that have been addressed in the latest versions. One can only hope that this galvanizes someone into action. The required versions are now: 8.2.6, 8.1.11, 8.0.15, 7.4.19 and 7.3.21. I'm in the process of testing a 8.2.6 ebuild and, so far, it appears that the only required change is for SRC_URI to be rewritten as: SRC_URI="mirror://postgresql/source/v${PV}/${P}.tar.bz2" This is because the package is no longer split into separate tarballs (-base, -docs and so forth). Apart from that, all of the gentoo patches appear to be applicable still and I have not noted any other required changes. Not sure about the older versions, but I expect them to be stock version bumps.
Closing bug because all versions in portage are now current (7.3.21, 7.4.19, 8.0.15, 8.1.11 and 8.2.6).
