Description Johan Bondeson 2007-09-11 11:17:01 UTC
Unmasking and installing vmware-workstation-6 and vmware-modules-1.0.0.16 on a clean system (no previous vmware installation) to try it out I found the following:

After running vmware-config.pl answering all questions with default answers I tried running /etc/init.d/vmware start and got !! when it tried loading vmmon and ok when it loaded vmnet. Then my system pretty much died. The mouse pointer would still work and the ssh server. Therefore I managed to get a dmesg. I could not get the system halted though...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Relevant part of dmesg:
vmmon: no version magic, tainting kernel.
