The driver for the Sun Differential SCSI controller which is used to connect Storedge D1000 disk arrays is missing from the kernel, it is the qlogicpti driver. Perhaps this could be added in as a module for future LiveCD kernels ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot LiveCD 2.Attempt to access D1000 array 3. Actual Results: No devices created for array drives due to lack of driver support for host bus adaptor Expected Results: I should be able to modprobe qlogicpti and have the system recognise all the drives in array as the appropriate /dev/sd? device
This should really be added on all arches, but specifically sparc and likely amd64/x86 also...
What's the CONFIG_* variable for this? Do you happen to know off-hand?
It's CONFIG_SCSI_QLOGICPTI=y in my 2.6.22 config as listed at http://www.billywatt.plus.com/kernel-2.6.22.config
Funny, this options isn't even available for amd64/x86. I've added it to genkernel, but it won't show up until after 2008.0 Beta 2, unfortunately. Sparc, you need to add this to your kernel config for 2008.0, please. If you're not booting from your array, you should have no issues once the kernel config is updated. Otherwise, it'll have to wait until a new CD is released with the newer genkernel.
Adding sparc/installcd-2.6.24.config Transmitting file data . Committed revision 516. Done
This should be fixed in 2008.0
