Description Andre Hinrichs 2007-08-07 21:30:56 UTC
The online package database is not reachable.
Can't give more information.
I simply need it!

You might want to check out http://gentoo-portage.com/, while pgo is down.

Comment 5 Peter J. de Vrijer 2007-08-09 10:27:17 UTC
Why is there no announcement as to why pgo is down
and a projection of how long it is going to take to get
pgo back up again?

In my opinion this should be on the gentoo.org homepage.

Sorry for SPAM, but one of the main services for Gentoo is down for more than two days without any answer? It does not look good :-/

Infra-folks is at the LWE SF currently. Please be patient.

Thanks, I would also vote for quick notice on www.gentoo.org, this looks like "Noone cares".

I think that this is not funny anymore. It looks like that Infra team structure is really bad designed when it is possible to let this happen.

I do not mean this offensive against anyone - I simply think that project like Gentoo should be capable to take care about this sort of problems.

It were nice if at minimum someone from the infrastructure team would acknowledge this issue.
Comment 13 Thomas Gatliff 2007-08-13 20:22:26 UTC
Does anyone have an image of the files for packages.gentoo.org website? Meaning, if its easy to get from SF, I just just put it up on one of my servers until the main server issue is resolved. I never knew how useful package.gentoo.org was until it is gone... :-)

Perhaps the files at http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo/src/packages/ are the ones for packages.gentoo.org.
Comment 15 Thomas Gatliff 2007-08-13 20:50:14 UTC
Good try, but it appears those are only util python files... Not HTML files or cgi, which is what I am looking for. Thanks for trying, though... :-)
Comment 16 Jakub Novak 2007-08-13 21:53:10 UTC
I'm sorry, this is kinda unrelated but I want to report bugs incl. solutions for several packages (arptables, ebtables, mysql-gui-tools), I wanted to do so through packages.gentoo.org, should I wait until packages.gentoo.org is up, post it directly here on bugzilla or post it on those projects' bugtrackers ?
Comment 17 Michele Schiavo 2007-08-14 06:25:26 UTC
How i can solve this :

 python gentoo.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "gentoo.py", line 8, in ?
    import config
ImportError: No module named config

Thank's

Don't think that you will get that file. It might contain the login-data to the ebuild-database, which probably are not given to a non-dev.
