Error Extracting '/usr/portage/packages/All/gcc-4.1.2.tbz2' On system I built the tbz2 I tried to un-tar the tbz2: # tar -jxf gcc-4.1.2.tbz2 tar: Skipping to next header bzip2: (stdin): trailing garbage after EOF ignored tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors I tried downgrading from tar-1.18-r1 to tar-1.17, tar-1.16.1, and tar-1.15.1-r1 (tar-1.16.1 failed to build). The downgraded tar's gave the same error. Even with rebuilding the tbz2 with the downgraded tar's.
