Description imgonnadothingsmyway 2007-07-07 08:11:30 UTC
After adding the "doc" USE flag and several others, and after emerging a few new programs, I attempted to update the system using "emerge -uDNv world". This worked fine until I was prompted with a "?" on the shell after several LaTeX warnings. I pressed enter and seconds later, the current emerge appeared to fail (detail given below in Actual Results). The package was media-libs/libdvdcss-1.2.9-r1.

I attemped to reinstall that package individually by typing "emerge -v =media-libs/libdvdcss-1.2.9-r1" and the exact same thing happened.

I noticed that the errors were probably because of the "doc" USE flag, due to all of the LaTeX warnings, so added "=media-libs/libdvdcss-1.2.9-r1 -doc" to my package.use file and attempted to reemerge the package and it worked perfectly fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add the "doc" USE flag to the USE variable
2. emerge -v =libdvdcss-1.2.9-r1 (possible bug with other versions too)
3. Wait a few minutes for errors/warnings to appear

Actual Results:
No file refman.ind.
[9] (./refman.aux)

LaTeX Warning: There were undefined references.

LaTeX Warning: Label(s) may have changed. Rerun to get cross-references right.

Expected Results:
I would have expected the emerge to complete successfully, and would probably not expect LaTeX warnings.
