While building prc-tools inside an x86 chroot (since it won't build on AMD64), I get the following: Configuring in opcodes configure: warning: target_alias=m68k-palmos: invalid host type loading cache ../config.cache checking for Cygwin environment... no checking for mingw32 environment... no configure: error: can only configure for one host and one target at a time make[2]: *** [configure-opcodes] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/prc-tools-2.3-r2/work/build/m68k-palmos/binutils' make[1]: *** [real-binutils] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/prc-tools-2.3-r2/work/build/m68k-palmos' make: *** [m68k-palmos] Error 2 Some other bug reports suggested that eliminating -march=xxx from CFLAGS might help, but that made no difference for me. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 123597 [details] output from "emerge info" for my x86 chroot
Nominated for removal "The prc-tools project currently consists of patches to binutils, gdb, and GCC to support Palm OS, along with several post-linker tools." I do not see how we can even consider keeping a 5 year old patchset around, clearly these patches need to be updated to keep up with upstream gcc, etc. -current release is 5 years old -this bug alone is 1+ years old -no maintainer plz vote
removal handled in bug 245476, removing treecleaners from CC to un-pollute our bug queue.
