Description Jose Medellin 2007-06-17 18:24:01 UTC
According to gentoo guidelines, 30 days have to pass for an ebuild to become stable. The ebuild for

sys-apps/sandbox-1.2.18.1.ebuild

has been in the trunk since

mar 10 2007

I've been using this app for some time with no problems at all. Thus, I'm requesting the stabilization..

Thanks!

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-21 11:15:43 UTC
We need to do 1.2.18.1-r1 when 2.6.23 kernels go stable (Bug 135745)

sandbox does not compiles for me I think it's not taking the correct ABI:

Because your system is messed up by the eselect-compiler POS (Bug 135688). Please don't clutter stabilization bugs with off-topic issues.

Vapier,

you closed dsd's bug requesting for sandbox to be marked stable without any comments. Do you want arches to stable this package *now* or to wait a bit longer? If now, please cc the arches.
Comment 8 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-10-24 18:55:49 UTC
what did you find confusing ? dsd opened a bug requesting the same thing for an already open bug, thus it got marked as a dupe ... didnt realize i had to add a comment "this is a dupe" when marking a dupe
Comment 9 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-25 02:58:22 UTC
Stable for HPPA. Please CC us next time. :)

didn't work:

@Waldo: seems like a problem related to your system.

Stable on alpha.

A problem with my system? That may be... but if so.. what? I can emerge everything else fine.

Comment 22 Trevor Hardcastle 2007-11-03 03:13:15 UTC
I'm experiencing the same issue as Waldo comment #17. Moving the /usr/bin/i686* binaries fixed it for me.

The i686 binaries I have in /usr/bin don't seem to belong to any package. Might be worth noting with the FEATURES=-sandbox message that some amd64 users might need to remove those files before this version of sandbox will emerge correctly.
Comment 23 Trey Boudreau 2007-11-14 22:57:32 UTC
I have a different variation on this problem. It gets much farther, but eventually fails a configure check:

...
checking for strtok_r... yes
checking for dlopen in -ldl... no
checking for dlopen in -lc... no
configure: error: Unable to determine library providing dlopen

Note that this happens for an update attempt on sandbox-1.2.18.1-r2 as well as trying to re-emerge 1.2.17. It *looks* like configure gets the arch wrong: it sees x86_64, but only matches the x86 part.

Another note: I do have an i686 cross-dev environment installed. gcc-config -l produces:

gcc-config -l
 [1] i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.2 *

 [2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.2 *
