Which file selector do you use? (original, gnome, kde) Mostly when we saw this issue, this had something to do with permissions or a home on NFS. Also there were some problems with non-utf8 systems and the kde fileselector. Can't reproduce here, please also don't file bugs as critical cause something crashes for you.

For me it crashes... on closing (single) windows, opening additional files, opening files from commandline, randomly in between, on saving, changing zoom (in openoffice calc), ... Yes, the system is non-utf. No slang or iconv useflags. I'm using E17 without any additional decorators. Is that the problem?
