Description Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-31 11:59:20 UTC
Due to the major revision bump, I've dropped KEYWORDS from qt 4.3.0 that were in the 4.2 series. Here's asking you to retest and readd keywords at your convenience.

Reproducible: Always

~ia64 done but i can't mark it ~alpha because apps using qt-4 doesn't work.

I have tried with qbittorrent, and when it checks for the qt4 environment during the configure it hangs, and keepassx compiles but when executed doesn't show anything. With 4.2.3 works fine.

Any ideas? How do i debug this?

You forgot to CC bsd@g.o but I've added it now anyway.
Comment 7 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-05 11:13:17 UTC
re: alpha. sorry, no ideas. can you verify that at configure time it's picking up the proper architecture? do you have any backtraces of any other programs that may crash?

Here's the build log:
http://dev.gentoo.org/~armin76/qt.log.bz2

I have tried with media-video/ttcut, same problem, compiles fine but doesn't show up anything.
Comment 9 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-11 18:32:09 UTC
This is reproducible in Debian too.

Maybe you can bug upstream?
Comment 10 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-13 23:20:11 UTC
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=433031 <- debian bug, they've mailed trolltech already
Comment 11 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-13 23:22:18 UTC
Well, it works fine on alpha with that patch. One of the debian maintainers told me that they had contacted trolltech, and if trolltech accepts that patch, they will ship it.
Comment 12 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-16 11:32:52 UTC
FYI: the debian bug has a new comment from a TT engineer with a revised patch
Comment 13 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-16 11:53:54 UTC
Correct, i'm subscribed to the bug :) I'll test it now and report in that bug, and in this one :)
Comment 14 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-16 20:04:46 UTC
Works fine, so seems fine to apply :)
Comment 15 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-19 19:00:59 UTC
Debian applied the patch, can we get that patch applied in the tree?

Thanks
Comment 16 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-19 19:02:12 UTC
certainly, but you gotta do it :)
Comment 17 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-20 20:00:48 UTC
Patch applied and keyworded ~alpha, closing.
