Description Marcel Cuculici Ion 2007-05-12 05:37:40 UTC
The CLI installer from 2007.0 Amd64 release cd, used in console (Alt+F1/F2/F3etc.) crash at "get stage3 from internet (enter urli) when there it`s set "export http_proxy="http://proxyip:8080"" and "export ftp_proxy="http://proxyip:8080"".
If there is internet acces or not, at the step with "geerate stage from LiveCD (fastest), the installer hangs out at "perl 40/114".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot the cd with nox paramater, configure network, export proxy
2.Type "installer" and follow the steps
3.At stage tarball, the installer crushes or it`s being killed.

I can confirm this. It seems to hang while doing the untar of perl, or at least before proceeding to the next package. No matter what I try I cannot get it
to proceed past the perl stage.

It happens with the gtk installer also.
I don't think it has anything to do with the proxies as I did not set them.

The debug flag seems to produce no useful info.
For me the problem occurred with the 2007.0 AMD64 liveCD.

In case it is relevant, I was doing the install on a laptop with an intel core 2 duo, and it was the gtk installer and 'installer-dialog' that failed.

this bug seems to be a duplicate of #178512, where there is a bit more info.
