Description morty9352 2007-04-24 13:33:36 UTC
I cannot do world update, because it keeps failing with esound. The error now is:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge esound
2.revdep-rebuild -X
3.emerge --update --deep --newuse world

Actual Results:
I continue to get the same error when any of the above is done.

Expected Results:
It should have installed esound

I have tried to unmerge esound and it says that it is not there to unmerge.

Also, when doing the revdep-rebuild, I get a very long list of statements that says broken and the end of most lines says "(requires libesd.so.0)".

 broken /usr/kde/3.4/bin/artsd (requires libesd.so.0)

I get lines like this for kde, evolution, and many others.

+1 on 0.2.36-r2
Comment 2 morty9352 2007-04-26 16:15:42 UTC
due to time constraints and recommendations by others, I have wiped it and started over.

Thank you
