Freevo emerges just fine, but postinstall it tries to 'setup' freevo with a local path, thus ignoring the ROOT variable. /usr/portage/media-tv/freevo/freevo-1.6.1.ebuild: line 179: /usr/bin/freevo: No such file or directory !!! We don't maintain freevo.
I concurr -- this is actually an issue with freevo's setup. I'll see if I can fix this behaviour in 1.7.2, worst-case i'll remove the automatic call to setup. (note -- freevo is being moved from portage to sunrise, due to a lack of an official maintainer)
scratch that -- its staying in portage. Issue still seems to be fixed in 1.7.2 though.. Please test and get back to us
i'll look into it asap, you got me worried there for a sec about moving freevo to sunrise, it's sad to see 'mainstreamish' packages move away from portage to a lack of manpower. There should be a wanted add out there for more gentoo devs :)
(In reply to comment #4) > you got me worried there Don't worry. I believe this is fixed in media-tv/freevo-1.7.2. Because <1.7 will not go stable, it won't be fixed there and the ebuilds removed soon.
