Description Stéphane Bortzmeyer 2007-03-27 19:49:13 UTC
echoping 6 is out:

http://echoping.sourceforge.net/

But it is more complicated to package since it now introduces dynamic
plugins. Several plugins are shipped with echoping, for instance the
PostgreSQL one. It probably means creating a IUSE for LDAP,
PostgreSQL, etc.

In order to enable plugin compilation on the machine where the package
is installed, it could be a good idea to install echoping.h and
compilation.h somewhere.

Reproducible: Always

Proposed ebuild (still a bit rough)

Thanks to Markus Ullmann, here is a first proposed ebuild. Two warnings:

* it does not handle echoping bugs 1689890 and 1689895

* ".h" files are put in the doc tree, they should probably be in /usr/include/echoping. Comment?

Final (?) version, tested

This ebuild works fine with echoping 6.0.1, which fixed the remaining bugs. I suggest its official integration in Gentoo.

It's in CVS now :)
