Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-24 12:57:15 UTC
This notice even doesn't make sense; it checks for .gz only plus ecompressdir takes care of this on-the-fly later on anyway; should be removed.
Comment 2 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2007-03-24 18:53:25 UTC
This is fixed in svn r6270:6272.
Comment 3 Harald van Dijk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-24 19:05:08 UTC
I thought the idea was that ebuilds /must/ install uncompressed manpages, but that the point of uncompressing later is so that portage handles broken ebuilds gracefully. So are ebuilds now allowed to install compressed manpages?

I suppose that's debatable. We currently have support for automatic decompression of files with Z, gz, and bz2 extensions.
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-03-25 01:14:27 UTC
the stance we're taking currently is that {Z,gz,bz2} will automatically be decompressed ... any other thing, your package should be decompressing it
