Description Thomas R. (TRauMa) 2007-03-22 10:14:14 UTC

seamonkey build fails on enigmail with the error below (note: i got -s in my make flags, so the output is less verbose than ususal):

make: *** Keine Targets angegeben und keine »make«-Steuerdatei gefunden. Schluss.

(Translation: no targets given and no make control file found, exit)

!!! ERROR: www-client/seamonkey-1.1.1 failed.
Call stack:, line 1614: Called dyn_compile, line 971: Called qa_call 'src_compile'
  environment, line 3974: Called src_compile
  seamonkey-1.1.1.ebuild, line 179: Called die

!!! make enigmail failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.
!!! A complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/www-client/seamonkey-1.1.1/temp/build.log'.

Further investigation:
If I call ./makemake in /var/tmp/portage/www-client/seamonkey-1.1.1/work/mozilla/mailnews/extensions I can continue with the build, before that the make file is indeed missing. So either that step is missing or the econf doesn't do everything it should.

Sorry, it should say:

If I call ./makemake in

Please, set your locales to C when reporting bugs.
Comment 3 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-22 13:19:24 UTC
Post more data, because it worked for me. If it didn't i wouldn't put it in the tree.

Remove the -s flag and use LANG=C.
Comment 4 Thomas R. (TRauMa) 2007-03-22 19:19:30 UTC
The machine this is on takes ~4 hours to emerge seamonkey, so expect me to take some time getting back to you. I guess you'll want the full build.log, as a more verbose english version of the above error won't tell you much more than what I gave you.
Comment 5 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-08 17:58:45 UTC
What's the status on this?

Reopen with the needed info.
Comment 6 Thomas R. (TRauMa) 2007-05-10 19:05:28 UTC
The error didn't occur with LANG="C" and empty MAKEOPTS. So either
 - it's the -j2 that causes this
 - it's the LANG="de_DE.utf8"
 - it went away.

I'll get back when I can rule out one of the above, but as the machine where this happens is in use right now, that again might take some time.

Can't reproduce with 1.1.7
