Description oxi 2007-03-14 10:34:51 UTC
For some time now, when I close audacious hitting on the window close button, it makes X crash. Lots of vertical yellow lines appear on the screen, and in the upper part can be seen a chunk of the latest tty used before changing to X. Then the keyboard remains "trapped" and I can't get out of that using any ctrl+alt combo. I have to connect through ssh and make startx and ctrl+c to make the screen switch to a tty and liberate the keyboard.

This doesn't happen if I just kill it, nor if I hit ctrl+c when launched from a terminal.

I suspect this is caused by some plugins I installed manually recently.

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch audacious
2.Close it hitting on the "x" button.
3.

Actual Results:
X crash. Lots of vertical yellow lines appear on the screen, and in the upper part can be seen a chunk of the latest tty used before changing to X. Then the keyboard remains "trapped"

Expected Results:
Should close cleanly.

When run from a tty, I get this after X crash:
"The application 'audacious' lost its connection to the display :0.0;
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the application."

Well, so remove the plugins and try again.

Thank you Jakub.
The problematic plugin is GOOM 2k4. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times to make it sure. The problem is gone. Thanks again.

Regards

Closing then, thanks for reporting back. (As for the plugin, report to the author please).
