+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #154715 +++

Updating to the latest ati-drivers on my AMD64 causes XOrg 7.1 to fail to load. Examining the XOrg logs reveals the exception trace:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 8. Server aborting

Masking ati-drivers-8.30.3 and ati-drivers-extra-8.30.3 and re-emerging these (causing version 8.29.6 of each to be installed) fixed this allowing XOrg to successfully load again.

AIGLX should be disabled according to the USE flag, but it somehow
is activated. Don't know how to deactivate it as per bug 154715
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-30 08:48:36 UTC
Disable AIXGL as noted on the other bug. Nothing we could fix here.
