Gentoo says app-arch/unace is under the GPL-2, but the archive the ebuild downloads says: the source may be distributed and used, but I,Marcel Lemke, retain ownership of the copyrights to the source. --------------------------------------- WWW: http://members.aol.com/mlemke6413/ace EMAIL: mlemke6413@aol.com Reproducible: Always
Yep, licence file from: http://www.winace.com/files/linunace25.tgz says: --------------------- Linux unace is provided free, "as-is". You may freely copy the program. Distribution is permitted within this original package only. Copyright by Marcel Lemke, Ace Compression Software --------------------- So the license should be something like "UnACE"?
1. That's not the package the ebuild uses, but it's not the GGPL either. 2. Yes, it should have its own license label (personally I'd prefer that this and all other nonfree packages be removed from the portage tree, but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon).
fixed in cvs
actually, it is correct as GPL-2
