Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. quickpkg x11-base/xorg-server 2. emerge -K x11-base/xorg-server Actual Results: >>> Extracting xorg-server-1.1.1-r4 tar: ./usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled/README.compiled: Cannot open: Not a directory tar: Skipping to next header tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors !!! Error Extracting /usr/portage/packages/All/xorg-server-1.1.1-r4.tbz2 Expected Results: successful emerge of xorg-server from package. This is not the dublicate of 151146 or 151239, because: I downgraded to tar-1.15.1-r1, then made quickpkg xorg-server and with emerge -avk xorg-server i get this: ... >>> Extracting xorg-server-1.1.1-r4 tar: ./usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled/README.compiled: Cannot open: Not a directory tar: Skipping to next header tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors !!! Error Extracting /usr/portage/packages/All/xorg-server-1.1.1-r4.tbz2 The same thing with tar-1.16-r2

Right now i don't have were to upload xorg-server-1.1.1-r4.tbz2 file. And it's bigger than 1MB (about 8 MB). Maybe some could suggest were to upload this file.
By the i am having this bung on may tow different systems (ppc and amd) for quit some time (i noticed it about 3 months). And its happening with all diffrent xorg-server versions. So i asmue it's quit easy to reproduce it on common gentoo system. I use stable system with a few keyworded packages on both machines.
so e-mail me the binary: vapier@gmail.com
This bug is a dublicate of bug #164655. This problem is that /usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled is directory in the sandbox but a symlink in the live filesystem. Thus the tar gets to contain /usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled->/var/lib/xkb and /usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled/README.compiled When trying to unpack somewhere else where (a) /var/lib/xkb doesn't exist or (b) is readonly it will fail.
