I seen these probs on both i686 and athlon-xp grp-1.4_r2 cds.

1. when trying to use evms you get an error that emvs needs ioctl 11.0.0 and that the kernel version is ioctl 12.0.0 and quits.

2. This may be a bug or or it could be me. I tried to setup software raid. After using cfdisk to partion and set type "FD",linux raid auto-detect, the "mkraid" command would say it couldnt determine md type? or version? I cant remember the exact complaint, but it would quit afterwards. It gave the same error if type was set to "83".

3. Niethercd seems to try tulip drivers for the nic's and for that mater sis900.

4. This a prob for some, in make.conf the are set to CFLAGS=" -mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe"
The problem is that gcc3.2.1 seems to over optimize? as it is and cauxse segfaults on some systems, it does on MSI 6378XML mobo, and in reading bug reports and going gcc 3.2.2 where they recomend a max "-O2" setting. gcc3.2.2 did help with my setup but its still flacky. Note I also have amptron 810LM useing SIS chipset , the sis900 nic, that had no probs with these setting including changing to "-march=athlon-xp". There is a thread on forums about one person who segfaults even worse than me but has no prob with gcc 2.95. . I'm useing dillo so I cant cut and paste but if your interrested the topic is installation on athlon xp1800 fails (gcc-3.2.1 problem?)
