Can we hard mask sys-kernel/vanilla-sources for 2.6.19 and 18.104.22.168? Since external modules can't compile against them (getting a sandbox violation, see bug 149307) their usefulness is questionable on modern desktop/laptop hardware.
2.6.18.x works, as well as 22.214.171.124 which has the "don't store temp in kernel tree" patch. I'm currently running 126.96.36.199 and both ati-drivers, nvidia-drivers, and ipw3945 (after unmasking) compile cleanly against them.
Steps to Reproduce:
No, that'd be plain stupid.
Care to explain? Or do we not get to prevent someone from using a broken kernel due to a stupid choice?
vanilla-sources is not a supported kernel on Gentoo. And anyone can upgrade to 188.8.131.52 if they are using external modules, or patch this themselves.
