Description Hendrik Radke 2007-01-06 11:04:56 UTC
coreutils-6.7-r1 moves several files formerly placed in /bin to /usr/bin.
Amongst these files is also /bin/id, moved to /usr/bin/id
But the script /usr/sbin/pppoe-start of the package rp-pppoe-3.8 assumes it is still in /bin/id, so pppoe-start fails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =coreutils-6.7-r1
2. emerge rp-pppoe-3.8
3. /usr/sbin/pppoe-start

Actual Results:
The script fails because it cannot determine if you are superuser.

Expected Results:
Expected an established DSL connection.

Either move/link /usr/bin/id back to /bin/id, or change the scripts in rp-pppoe.
/usr/bin/id is used in the following scripts:
- pppoe-start
- pppoe-setup
- pppoe-connect
