Description Tiago 2006-12-26 17:14:08 UTC
Hi,

Just compiled amarok 1.4.4-r3 (x86) and whenever I run it the following KDE error dialog is briefly displayed:

    KLibLoader could not load the plugin:
    libamarok_void-engine_plugin

    Error message:
    /usr/kde/3.5/lib/kde3/libamarok_void-engine_plugin.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

then amarok crashes (spontaneously). Console output is the following:

    tjgq@trillian:~$ amarok
    Amarok: [Loader] Starting amarokapp..
    Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp.
    terminate called after throwing an instance of '__gnu_cxx::recursive_init'
      what():  N9__gnu_cxx14recursive_initE

Running amarokapp gives the same behavior. Console output:

    tjgq@trillian:~$ amarokapp
    terminate called after throwing an instance of '__gnu_cxx::recursive_init'
      what():  N9__gnu_cxx14recursive_initE
    Amarok is crashing...
    Running: gdb --nw -n --batch -x /tmp/kde-tjgq/amarokI8F8kb.tmp amarokapp 1003
    Failed to read a valid object file image from memory.
    Running: file `which amarokapp`
    1.4.4 [___stripped][validity: 0.00][frames:  10][helix]

    Amarok has crashed! We are terribly sorry about this :(

    But, all is not lost! Perhaps an upgrade is already available which fixes the problem. Please check your distribution's software repository.

The KDE error dialog already appeared in a previous version, but there was no crash (clicking OK in the dialog amarok ran just fine).

My emerge --info follows (I'll also post an strace if I manage to identify the relevant part):

tjgq@trillian:~$ emerge --info

amarok strace

This is the complete strace. It looks mostly like gibberish to me, so I don't know what to weed out. Grep for "terminate called" to get to the point where the console output appears (nothing relevant to my eyes around it, though).
