Description Hans Schou 2006-12-24 04:23:44 UTC
Hi

After an update I could not start X. The problem was that my graphics card driver had not been upgraded. After a forced rebuild I was running again.

        emerge xf86-video-ati

Im not sure if it is a bug but I think that driver should have been upgraded/rebuilded automaticly - or am I wrong?

/hnas

1/ Please don't restrict bugs without any reason; just leave the checkboxes alone.

2/ We don't rebuild anything automatically, it's neither allowed nor is there any way to force such rebuild.

Actually this can be done by revision bumping and depending on that revision only.

Please provide more info on what were you upgrading from and to and your emerge --info and then reopen.

For what reason? There's no revbump needed, you just need to rebuild the module (the same as after kernel upgrade, would you like to revbump all external kernel modules as well with every new kernel? o_O)
