Hi,

WxWidgets 2.8.0 is released:

It seems that aMule is currently crippled as a result of bugs in the wxwidgets version that is now in portage. According to aMule's website this should be fixed in 2.8.0, so I suppose the aMule ebuild should actually been made to depend on wxwidgets >= 2.8.0 as soon as that's considered stable enough (or simply right away).
