People who like to use suspend (ram, software), should update their /etc/hibernate/common.conf to the following:

Distribution gentoo
LoadModules auto
GentooModulesAutoload yes

UnloadModules ipw3945
DownInterfaces eth1
# UpInterfaces auto
StopServices ipw3945d
