Don´t know if this is an upstream bug or gentoo-specific. Created attachment 104542 [details, diff] patch for getting Kyocera FS 820 with cups-1.2 (kernel issue) based on kernel 2.6.18-r4 The patch modifies the file usblp.c in /usr/src/linux/drivers/usb/class/. It adds a line that marks Kyocera FS-820 as "quirky".
