The current version (0.81.9) of sci-misc/oww is gtk2, plus it also supports a text-only client. It should be BUMPed rather than removed.

Unfortunately, it looks like gnome-base/libghttp which is one of the deps is going away as well. Oww builds fine without it "but will then not support Wunderground-style", according to the docs. Is this a problem from your point of view? Thanks, Markus

They switched from libghttp to libcurl, per the Changelog and a quick test compile, so that will not be an issue.

Anyway, I just bumped oww to 0.81.9 which is gtk1 free in portage cvs. @compnerd: Could we please change the package.mask from sci-misc/oww to =sci-misc/oww-0.71.1 to allow people to emerge the new version and to avoid it being removed accidentally. Thanks, Markus
Thanks to compnerd, oww-0.81.9 has been removed from package.mask and should be ready to go. Closing this bug ... Thanks, Markus
