Hi, here is an ebuild for the live git checkout of cairo, as a diff. Dunno if you want to add it to the tree or not, but if you do, here it is :)

No. I don't like live checkout ebuilds since they're completely unpredictable. You might emerge it and complain it doesn't work. An hour later I'll emerge it and it's fine.
That's the nature of the beast. The ebuild would be un-keyworded (KEYWORDS="-*"), and thus unsupported, like others in Portage: find /usr/portage/ -name \*-9999.ebuild
