I installed app-admin/logrotate-3.7.2 on day "20061116", and rebooted computer several times. My /var/log/messages is still 89M, and first lines are date about July 13rd 2006 ... root@moon_gen:~# grep -ni cron /var/log/messages |wc 14430 180311 1566433 root@moon_gen:~# grep -ni logrot /var/log/messages |wc 0 0 0 root@moon_gen:~# so, cron run, but does not mention logrotate. Is that a cron bug ? not the worst for me today. Weekly cron ran sunday, as for many people, I left my box over a full night to make sure cron daily would run normal way, and my /var have not been touched at all !
