Description Simon Schäfer 2006-11-20 06:44:49 UTC
I have gotten a lot of internal compilation errors with gcc4.1.1-r1 and then some configure told me that gcc is not able to create binarys. So i took the source that fails (from the config.log) and tested it myself:

x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -c -Wno-long-long -Wundef -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -DNDEBUG -DNO_DEBUG -O2 -O2 -pipe -march=k8 -mno-tls-direct-seg-refs -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -Wno-non-virtual-dtor  -fno-check-new -fno-common test.cpp
test.cpp: In function 'int main()':
test.cpp:32: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:http://bugs.gentoo.org/> for instructions.
Preprocessed source stored into /tmp/ccSuLvRF.out file, please attach this to your bugreport.

thats what i got.
then i downgrade to 4.1.1 and the compile went all good

did you add those attachments as binary files? That's really annoying.

i've added them as they are and with autodetect content type

I changed them to text/plain. The autodetect isn't particularly clever; it's best to set text/plain manually when adding text file attachments.

try gcc-4.1.1-r3
Comment 7 Simon Schäfer 2006-12-19 16:30:09 UTC
I think I got a broken version of my gcc someway.
I resolved this yesterday (hadn't time to do it before). I took gcc-4.1.1 glibc and glib binary packages from a friend of mine who got the same flags as i do. Downgraded and then upgraded my gcc to gcc-4.1.1-r3 and now everything works.
