I'm running gentoo with the hardened/x86/2.6/ profile.

and more... existing file /usr/share/man/man5/mbox.5.gz is not owned by this package mbox.5.gz is part of mutt-1.5.13-r1
yeah, error(3) should def not be provided by qmail
part of this bug is also discussed in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137207 (bug #137207) there, it seems that the collisions with error(3) and tcp-environ(5) manpages are solved already.
