Hello! I've got a strange problem. After a fresh install of my system, hiding of icons in the KDE system tray doesn't work correct any more. During a session I select which icons to hide and during this session they are hidden. But after a new login all icons - except klipper - are visible again and I have to hide them again. And so on and so forth... I've also deleted the whole .kde dir in the user's home, but the problem persists. Do you have any ide what might be the cause and how to solve it? In the gentoo forums also another user confirmed having this problem. On this system I've tried another Linux distribution with KDE 3.5.5 and that worked without this problem. Thank you in advance.
Same problem here. It stopped to work correctly after i did an emerge --update --newuse --deep world
Found a solution but not the cause of the bug. First of all, open your ~/.kde/share/config/systemtray_panelappletrc You will find application names instead of file names (eg. KBluetoothD instead of kbluetoothd. Worse than that, you'll get strange characters if you're not using Unicode and have installed kompos

You should make it look like: [HiddenTrayIcons] Hidden=klipper, kompose, kbluetoothd
This seems to have been a problem in 3.5.5. Is it still a problem in 3.5.7?
Please reopen if this is still a problem for you.
I don't experience this problem any more with KDE 3.5.7.
