Hello All... Since four or five weeks now, I've a very big problem with my very new AMD64 (Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pa 1510, Turion64 X2 1,6 GHz, 1024 MB Ram) Notebook and three KDE-packages. These are the packages: [ebuild U ] kde-base/kdejava-3.5.5 [3.5.2] USE="arts kdeenablefinal kdehiddenvisibility -debug -xinerama" 0 kB [ebuild U ] kde-base/konsole-3.5.5 [3.5.4-r1] USE="arts kdeenablefinal kdehiddenvisibility -debug -xinerama" 20 kB [ebuild U ] kde-base/kmail-3.5.5-r1 [3.5.4-r1] USE="arts crypt kdeenablefinal kdehiddenvisibility -debug -xinerama" 1 When trying to update or install one of these three packages, he begins, makes the configure and starts make, but after a few minutes of compiling he starts hanging forever and the load average climbs up to 25.00 and more and he doesn't react anymore on keyboard-input or mouse-input. I've already tried to change the CFLAGS from -march=k8 to -march=athlon-xp and similar. And I've also already changed the -O from 3 to 2 and also to s. I've also tried to change MAKEOPTS from -j3 to -j1. And I've also removed java, kdeenablefinal and kdehiddenvisibility from USE. Always with the same result RAM is new and works fine (tested with memtest). CPU is also new, works fine and doesn't get too hot.
