Description Rene Schneider 2006-11-13 23:32:58 UTC
Hi,
after a fresh install from scratch, and installing openntpd-3.7_p1 the ntpd wouldn't start. "ntpd -d" returned "bad privsep dir permissions" and some other giberish. There was no indication as to which file was causing it.

Statrting sshd it complained about /var/empty should be owned by root, while it was owned by user ntp. A "chown root /var/empty" rectified the issue and afterward ntpd did run as well.

I guess this dir should have been created by the openntpd ebuild with correct permissions and owner.
