# Seemant Kulleen <seemant@gentoo.org> (07 Nov 2006)
# Masked because there's a digest mismatch, and who knows what the real
# checksum is supposed to be
=net-print/cups-1.2.6

You've p.masked the only ebuild left from 1.2* series. A downgrade will produce _horribly_ broken cups plus kill all applications that link to it. There's no documented way to downgrade the thing, please never ever do this again because of a such a trivial thing like a digest mismatch... It's lots better to get 100 dupes on broken digest than killing printing for user by forcing a nightmare-like downgrade.
Comment 1 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 02:38:26 UTC
I unmasked it by popular demand (named jakub).
Comment 2 Ciaran McCreesh 2006-11-08 03:31:42 UTC
Did you fix the digest issues?

It's already been fixed before by genstef, works just fine here.

  08 Nov 2006; Seemant Kulleen <seemant@gentoo.org> +files/cups-1.2.5.patch,
  +cups-1.2.5.ebuild:
restoring 1.2.5 until the distfile issue is properly sorted

^^^ I had restore 1.2.5

So if you didn't see it in your sync, then something else is wrong. Of course I wouldn't mask the only 1.2* series without making sure there was an adequate replacement.
Comment 5 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 07:13:35 UTC
Of course I didn't see 1.2.5 in my sync, since genstef removed it again after fixing the digest issue. How was he supposed to know that you've p.masked 1.2.6 meanwhile?

Eh... unmasked, closing.
